How many members are in Paper Plane Pilot?
One. All music was composed, recorded, mixed and produced by your host.
How do you make your music?
Using a combination of hardware and software synthesizers, pretty much everything is played on a keyboard and then recorded into a computer for further editing. Usually I'll start with a basic melody and build around it -- adding in drums, ambiance and vocals as I go. Then I arrange and mix on the computer until it all comes together.
Where can I buy/find your music?
Head on over to the download page or purchase a CD here.
I purchased a download but something went wrong. What can I do?
Please fill out this form and you'll receive an email with further instructions.
What's the difference between the free and paid versions of downloads?
Fidelity. The free version is free so that anyone, regardless of their situation or motivation to support Paper Plane Pilot, can still enjoy the music. That's important to me, and ultimately why I make music in the first place. Unfortunately, writing, recording, promoting and distributing music is not free. So if you're looking for high quality downloads, you'll have to shell out a few bucks. I think that's a fair tradeoff, and it allows me to keep making music while not going broke in the process.
So which download is right for me?
Listeners looking for the best in audio quality are encouraged to purchase CD quality WAVs, which can be burned straight to CD. MP3s range from decent (128 bit, free) to near CD quality (320 bit). Most people consider anything less than 192 or 256 bit MP3s to be noticeably different from CD audio. Some people think 128s sound great. If that's you, great! But there are definite differences between 128 bit MP3s and CD audio. Only when you get to 320 do the differences start to become hard to detect.
